These Valentine’s Day napkins were made by cutting 12.5×12.5 inch squares and then sewing each side 1/4 inch in and then again.

These are the napkins my sister and I made back in February.  She got a really cool sewing machine that does some small embroidery.  We made these napkins using white cotton and then used her machine to do the edges.  They turned out so pretty for our Valentine dinners.

Cocoa Cones

My neighbor surprised us the other day with these really cute cocoa cones. I drank one last night mixed with milk and it was delicious! I didn’t write down the measurements of any of the ingredients, but here is what is in it: hot cocoa mix at the bottom, white chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and then marshmallows top it all off. We mixed our ingredients with milk so that the chocolate would mix better. The chocolate did get a bit clumpy and it didn’t want to melt, but it did eventually.

For our story we read:
Santa Mouse

ETA:
Before I drank the other cocoa cone I measured out the ingredients. I started with measuring cups but it was just too messy so I counted everything.
At the bottom is a little more than 2 tablespoons hot chocolate powder
70 white chocolate chips
57 chocolate chips ( I think they were semi sweet)
At the very top were 38 small marshmallows

Martha Stewart had these cute little valentine heart boxes on her website. I made these for my kids. They were pretty simple. The only problem I had with them is that they didn’t hold a lot of larger candy. I filled them with 4 Lindt Truffle balls.

We tried these melted wax hearts a few days ago. They are really simple to make. You just shave some crayons onto some wax paper. It is best to use a crayon sharpener to get the crayon shavings, but we used a dull knife to scrape the crayons. After you put all the colors on the wax paper, put another piece of wax paper on top of the first one with all the shavings. Then place the wax paper layers with the crayons in the middle between newspaper with an ironing cloth on top of the newspaper and iron until the crayon
