I finally got around to making a tutu for my niece’s Black Apple Doll. Here is how I made it:

1.  Using elastic, measure around your doll’s waist and cut.

2. Sew the ends of the elastic together by overlapping a little bit.

3.  Cut about 1 inch wide strips of tulle.  Mine weren’t perfect at all, but the imperfections are hidden in the fullness of the tutu.  Once the strips are cut I cut the strips into fourths so that they were shorter.

4.  Knot each strip to the elastic circle.  Go around the whole circle until the desired fullness is reached.

5.  Trim the tutu at the bottom so that the layers are all the same length.

6. Slide the tutu onto your doll.
