Winter Sowing

Collecting seeds is one of my favorite hobbies. I learned about this winter sowing technique and decided to give it a try. Here I put some soil in some strawberry containers and then sprinkled the seeds on top. I watered the dirt before I put the seeds in. Then close the lid and let nature take its course. The seeds will sprout when they are ready. You do have to make sure the seeds have moisture from time to time. Once the seeds sprout you can plant them in the yard. I planted baby’s breath, petunias, pumpkin, cosmos, day lillies, snapdragons, Shasta daisies, and sunflowers. I still have some purple rose of sharon to plant too.
