Tonight is New Year’s Eve and we are staying home to celebrate. It is a pretty simple night. Here is what we had for dinner:
Bruschetta, pizza with the works for toppings, chocolate chip cookies, and 12 grapes.

The Toll House cookie recipe is always my favorite in taste, but they seem to turn out flat with lumps of chocolate sticking up. By switching the baking soda to baking powder, it helped to make them puffier. I do find that the taste is a little off though. Next time I will try to do half baking soda and half baking powder. Overall a big improvement in the looks category.

On the Martha Stewart website they made a big deal out of grapes this year and how the Spanish eat one grape for each of the 12 bongs at midnight. Not knowing if we will make it to midnight, I served the 12 grapes with dinner. Martha, of course, had cute ideas on how to serve the grapes. Maybe next year I will try one of her cute ideas.

The pizza is our regular stand by recipe. This time we added chicken. I thought the chicken was kind of gross just because of the way it was cooked. It would be a lot better if it was grilled.
