Leaf Rubbings

The art project for today was leaf rubbings.  The kids really liked this.  They had fun doing the whole project from searching for leaves to doing the rubbings.  We had to peel a bunch of crayons too.  We will definitely do this again in the fall and maybe take a walk around the neighborhood for a leaf walk.  Today was kind of gloomy so we just picked leaves in our yard.
Anyway here is how you do it: 1.  Pick some leafs.  2.   Peel your crayon wrappers off.  3.  Put the leaf wrong side up.  4.  Place the paper over the leaf.  5.  Rub your crayon sideways  (lay it down the long way) over the leaf and watch your print appear.
I am sure you could make some beautiful things using leaf rubbings.  I was thinking a journal cover.  I also want to try other things around the house.
